Stray Cinema was an open source film. In July 2008 the filmmaker we selected, Naomi Lamb, decided she did not want us to continue using her footage for the Stray Cinema project. Sadly this means we will not have a screening event this year, nor will we receive the $8,200 Creative NZ funding allocated to us.

Please contact us if you would like any further information as to why the Stray Cinema screening event will not be going ahead.

Stray Cinema is a non-for-profit project and we have all contributed our time and effort to the project without being paid or expecting anything in return. This is due to our strong belief in the open source ethos and democratising the fimmaking process. The Stray Cinema film submissions will remain on YouTube, you can watch them here.
