Here is a quick guide to entering the Stray Cinema competition:
- Register on our Website, if you have not already.
- Download our raw footage.
- Edit a cut of the film you wish to make from our footage using your own editing software. A tutorial and tips on editing and editing software can be found on our links page.
- Go to the Stray Cinema submit page, and fill out the required details and upload the video file.
- Wait patiently to see if your film is voted one the top five by our online community!
- The final day for submissions is 23rd of July 2008.
- If your film is voted one of the top five by our online community, we will contact you to arrange for the high quality footage to be sent to you. You can use this to make your final cut of the film for our New-Zealand screening event.
The New-Zealand screening event will be held on the 23rd of September 2008, six months from the date that 30 film submissions were received onto our website.
Competition Requirements:
- The cut off date for submissions into the competition will be 23rd of July 2008.
- Submissions into the competition must be no longer than two minutes in length.
- At least 80% of the footage used in your two minute submission must be our raw footage. Your own pickup shots are allowed.
- There is no limit to the number of films you can submit.
- There are no limitations to the amount of special effects you may add to your film submission. You are limited only by your imagination.
- We reserve the right to withhold inappropriate materials from online posting.
- All raw footage and user submissions are protected by a Creative Commons licence.
