Animator vs. Animation
A bit of light hearted animation to kick of the week.
I found a series of videos on Atomfilms.com where an animator creates a simple stick figure in Flash, only to find the stick figure is sick of being tortured and decides to fight back.
The second episode below was my favourite, where the stick figure breaks out of Flash and (i quote) "takes on mighty opponents like Firefox, the AOL IM guy and the Photoshop icon."
Hehe. As a side note, this film won the Animation 'People's Voice Winner' at the Webby awards this year.

that's great, i mean the interaction with all these things that we know so much...we are surrounded with symbols,icons...we feel like a child in front of something who became alive,something that we see every day...it's funny because the sense of this movie, the references are very actual and maybe that if it was created just few years ago,nobody want to watch it or give it an award.

yeah i agree, it's a very timely piece! the aliveness of these normally dull icons was just what i needed to kick-start my monday morning, though i found myself slightly distracted dreaming of how my calculator icon would react to this little stick man. perhaps that's covered in another series.
