We have 30 film submissions!
Great news, we have just received our 30th film submission. This means we can set a date for our screening event.
The screening event will be held on in April 2011, in Barcelona.
The top five films will be shown alongside the directors edit... so get voting!
As part of the celebration, the event will also involve VJ's mixing raw video footage from the film to live music. It will engage the online community, by webcasting live footage from the event onto this website, along with live interactive web-chat, vodcasting and blogging.
This event is designed to maximize impact for both an on-site and an online audience simultaneously. We want to acknowledge that important things still happen in the real world. We believe that many film-makers ultimately want their work to reach and engage a live audience.
Stray Cinema will be an ongoing annual event, this process will be repeated with raw footage filmed in a different city each year, by a different director. Each screening event will take place in the city where the raw footage originated.
The new footage available for remix will be announced and released at the time of the 2011 screening event.
Open World Forum

I recently went over to Paris to talk about open source filmmaking at the Open World Forum.
I was on a panel with two other filmmakers: Solomon Rothman, MoviePals and Eléonore Lamothe, Inflammable Productions. We had a really interesting discussion, that I think was summed up well here and here.
