The year is coming to an end, and what a year it's been.

The highlight for me in 2007 was definitely the trip to London in August to hold the Stray Cinema screening event. It was amazing to see the digital and real worlds combine, and to celebrate the project with other human beings. Running Stray Cinema has meant i've spent a lot of time alone infront of my computer, so when something exciting happens (i.e we get a new film submission or positive feedback on the project) I often don't know what to do with myself….there is noone around to share the excitement. So the real world screening was a great opportunity to beable to celebrate the hard work everyone has put into Stray Cinema with a party.

Well I am going to take a wee break over christmas and new years. Thanks for reading my blog, and any contributions you have made to the project. Keep an eye out for a special christmas Stray Cinema film submission…anyone?

Taken from Rob's blog:

"Webster’s Dictionary word of the year is w00t, according to a report from Associated Press.

“W00t,” a hybrid of letters and numbers used by gamers as an exclamation of happiness or triumph, topped all other terms in the Springfield-based dictionary publisher’s online poll for the word that best sums up 2007.

Webster’s president, John Morse, said “w00t” was an ideal choice because it blends whimsy and new technology.

Gamers commonly substitute numbers and symbols for the letters they resemble, Morse says, creating what they call “l33t speak” - that’s “leet” when spoken, short for “elite” to the rest of the world."

MadLibs mashup

MadLibs

Mashups are all the rage...MadLibs is one very interesting use of a mash-up site - you enter a noun, verb, adjective, name, and number to be told a Flickr photo story.

The photo above is from mine, try it yourself...

Here is a very timely message from the freespeech.org people in the wake of Facebook's recent apology
