Year on year we aim to increase the quality of the raw footage we use. It is Stray Cinema's dream to have David Lynch shoot the footage for Stray Cinema 2010.

David Lynch by Antony Hare:

like to shoot footage for stray cinema?

We are looking for new Stray Cinema footage. This new footage will be released on our website on the night of our screening event in London - 21st august 2007.

You can find more info here, but if you have a film that you have shot, or would like to shoot over the next 2-3 months (on digital or celluloid film), and would like to make this footage available for our community to remix, then please contact me as soon as possible.

furtherfield.org is a fantastic website which describes its content in the following way...

'Colluding with artists, critical poets, noisemakers & net nomads that reinvent the worlds that straddle earthly and digital zones'.

My favourite find on the site (so far) is The Sheep Market by Aaron Koblin.

Animator vs. Animation

A bit of light hearted animation to kick of the week.

I found a series of videos on Atomfilms.com where an animator creates a simple stick figure in Flash, only to find the stick figure is sick of being tortured and decides to fight back.

The second episode below was my favourite, where the stick figure breaks out of Flash and (i quote) "takes on mighty opponents like Firefox, the AOL IM guy and the Photoshop icon."

Hehe. As a side note, this film won the Animation 'People's Voice Winner' at the Webby awards this year.
