More on second life...

After my last blog entry on Second Life, I couldn't resist posting an interesting snippet from a newsletter I received from ideafarm.com.au this morning.

"Hello there Michelle, as you may have read recently, Anshe Chung, a real-estate tycoon in the digitally simulated world Second Life, has become the first ‘real, virtual-millionaire’, someone whose holdings in this digital realm are legally convertible into genuine U.S. currency worth more than million. (If you missed it, you can read how this remarkable feat was achieved here.

We Farmers, adept at reading the skies and seasons for signs, see this story as a sign - Second Life has tipped. There are other signs too. There’s a thriving virtual black market and a throbbing sex trade going on in SL. So, it won’t be long now before we read about the first Second Life murder ...

You can run but you can't hide.

The Farmers"

With these types of happenings, it seems there may also be a place for documentary makers inside second life.

Look out for my next blog entry, it will have more to do with Stray Cinema, and less to do with Second Life...promise :). There are some interesting comments about Stray Cinema on the indyworks blog that I would like to respond to.

Below this is a three part entry on Open-Source Storytelling and online video sharing which is well worth a read.
