Have you heard about the new movie Cloverfield to be released by Paramount Pictures in January? Produced by J. J. Abrams, directed by Matt Reeves. I'm not sure who's editing...
I'm a bit slow on the mark with this one, but since July people all around the world have been trying to find out more about this film. The production is constantly releasing little clues about the plot, and recently some encrypted photos. There seems to be an eager bunch of people following its progress online.
There are also websites - like Cloverfield Clues and Cloverfield news - blogging everything they find out about Cloverfield (potentially run by the producers themselves?)
All of the main characters have myspace profiles, and there are even fake websites devoted to the brands used only in the world of the film - like the drink Slusho (this drink is not available in the real world..yet).
One of the most interesting things about this film - to me - is that it is all shot on handheld camera devices (mobile phones, video cameras etc) by the characters themselves.
