update...

I'm up in Auckland this week, hanging out with my little brothers and Tabea...so you probably won't hear anything from me again till Monday.
Have a great weekend, and if you get the chance then check out some of the new additions to our music page (I added a few today).

Right i've gone on about Myspace enough in the past, now is the relevant time to talk about Facebook.
Infact over the last few months I have badly neglected my myspace pages to spend time on facebook....perhaps not such a good move.
Last week Facebook announced they were going to launch "social advertising" on their site. You can read about it on Techcrunch.
This means targeted advertising to our profile status, ok fine. But more interesting is a new type of advertising called Facebook Beacon - which will allow us to recommend products or brands to our friends through our feeds.
here is an example (taken from the facebook press release) of how it will work...
"The Coca-Cola Company will feature its Sprite brand on a new Facebook Page and will invite users to add an application to their account called “Sprite Sips.” People will be able to create, configure and interact with an animated Sprite Sips character. For consumers in the United States, the experience can be enhanced by entering a PIN code found under the cap of every 20 oz. bottle of Sprite to unlock special features and accessories. The Sprite Sips character provides a means for interacting with friends on Facebook. In addition, Sprite will create a new Facebook Page for Sprite Sips and will run a series of Social Ads that leverage Facebook’s natural viral communications to spread the application across its user base."
I like innovation, but this is creepy. Im going to take a shower.
Generation Z?

That's right, ive just been reading about "the most promising and the most ignored target audience" - Generation Z (youngsters born after 1 April 2006). "Get em while they are young".
This comes from Trendwatching's latest monthly report. The more I read though, the more ridiculous the report became...
That's because the report is a spoof. Why?
"We thought it would be fun, just for once, to mock overzealous marketers, crass consumerism and—above all—ourselves. :-)" - Trendwatching.com
Haha, that's a relief. It's actually quite a funny report if you have the time to read it (they didn't have the warning at the top of the page when I first read it).
David Lynch - Inland Empire
By michelle, 2 years, 4 months ago - 2 comments

Inland Empire is the first feature film that David Lynch has made since Mulholland Drive . I went to see it on Tuesday night, and oh what an amazing film! Oh oh oh!
I think everyone will take something different from it, and its likely thats what he intended. I think Lynch is very in touch with his subconscious and often makes creative decisions based on intuition. For me watching this film was like having a very meaningful dream.
There is alot I could say about this film and my personal views on David Lynch's style of film making, but I got told off the other night by my brother, for telling him too much about the plot before we watched a film. He said it ruined the suspense. So I recommend you see this film for yourself, if you have not already...
It is our dream to have David Lynch shoot the footage for Stray Cinema 2010.
